Mother of Mercy Hospital Kyengera is the latest health care undertaking in the long list of health care services established by the Banabiikira sisters (Daughters of Mary).

The catholic religious institute, whose service to the less privileged dates way back in 1910 when it was founded by Bishop Henry Steicher a white Father and Mother Mechtilda a white Sister to play a role of motherhood to the children who were unable to be taken in for catechumen classes of adults at the time.
